UKAS 17020 accredited inspection bodies are classified into three types (Type A, Type B and Type C) based on the inspection body's relationship to the parties involved, its organisation structure, and its responsibilities and ownership. We at General Environmental Services Ltd have been awarded the Type C accreditation.Type C bodies are identifiable entities but may not be a separate part of the organisation. Type C can also supply inspection services to parties other than the parent organisation. It is UKAS' task to assess the competence and to establish the type of independence for each applicant for accreditation.

Legionella Control Associate (LCA) – The Code of Conduct for Service Providers, The conduct scheme, which is voluntary was originally developed by a working party drawn from the British Association for Chemical Specialities and the Water Management Society in close consultation with the Health and Safety Executive. As its name suggests, the scheme is for service providers involved in the supply of goods and services relating to the control of legionella bacteria in water systems.

The Company has integrated quality controls into existing systems and cross-referenced them for ease of interpretation. The effective implementation of the quality management system is verified by regular inspections, reviews and audits, which compare management practice against the requirements of the written procedures. Corrective action is taken where necessary and is subsequently reviewed for effectiveness.
