05/08/09 15 Reprted Cases of Legionnaires Disease in June 2009

Fifteen cases in June were reported with pneumonia; nine males aged 50-69yrs and six females aged 54-79yrs. Five cases had community acquired infection and two acquired infection in hospital.

Eight cases were travel associated: Cuba (1), France/Switzerland (1), Italy (2), Italy/Switzerland (1), Spain (1), Turkey (1) and United States of America (1).
