15/05/09 Legionella Death Reported

It has been reported in todays Sun newspaper (15/05/09) that a cancer patient at the Addenbrooke Hospital, Cambridge has died from Legionnaires disease.

The hospital launched an investigation after the patient tested positive for Legionnaires Disease after their death.

Legionella bacteria were detected in a shower near a ward at the teaching hospital and disinfection works were completed as a precautionary measure.
